Appearance
Warm brown fine grit powder with light gold flecks of bright coriander and green cardamom.
Aroma
Sweet, earthy, warm.
Texture
Medium fineness with a slight grit. Our masalas are minimally processed and lightly sifted for the freshest, most robust flavor, so you will see some very small, yet different sized particles throughout our blends. We use all of our spices whole and entirely, as we find that each part of the spice adds a different layer, flavor and texture to our blend. The different particle sizes release their aromatics at various times throughout the cooking process, giving you a beautiful, complex layered flavor that a finely ground and homogenized powder wouldn't.
Taste
Complex with layered flavors. Our Garam Masala starts off sweet on the tongue, is followed by warm notes and ends with a bit of smoky spiciness. Coriander lends a floral undertone throughout and balances the overall blend for a soft, lingering flavor.
